# API Reference | Introduction

> Atoa REST API reference: authenticate with a Bearer token and call JSON endpoints for payments, refunds, customers, bank feed and webhooks.

The Atoa API is a RESTful, JSON-based API for taking payments and accessing account data. All requests use standard HTTP verbs and status codes and are authenticated with a Bearer token from your Atoa Business app; the base URL is `https://api.atoa.me`. This reference documents every resource, Customers, Payment Methods, Payments, Refunds, Institutions, Bank Feed, Payouts, Card on File and Webhooks, with request and response schemas and copy-paste code samples in cURL, Python, JavaScript, PHP, Go and Java. New to Atoa? Start with Getting started, then test in the Sandbox before switching to production.

## Use our Postman Collection

We've created a comprehensive Postman collection containing all of our APIs for your convenience.

To authenticate your requests:

1. Navigate to the **Authorization** tab in the root folder
2. Replace **api-access-token** with your actual API token

If the button above doesn't work, you can also [access our collection directly on Postman](https://www.postman.com/red-shuttle-882685/atoa-payments/overview).
